The Orion Nebula. In the winter, look for this as the fuzzy 'star' in the sword that hangs from the three bright stars of Orion's belt. Once you notice that it's not a star at all, you never quite see it the same way. What your eye initially thinks is a star is the bright, central part of the nebula, but as you try to focus and realise you cannot, the nebula comes into view - often easier to see by looking just to the side of it, using the 'averted vision' technique. 2hrs with the Dwarf, 444x15s in a 2x1 mosaic.
